Our cousin Mia provided some of the “Going-ons” in Maryland with the Josiah Henson Museum and Park in Maryland. Some exciting information as ground has been broken and construction is well on the way.
- Cousin Dennis traveled to Rockville, MD in September 2019 to be part of the tapings for the film that will be showed in the Visitor’s Center. This file will welcome visitors and introduce them to Josiah Henson’s early years on the plantation.
- The Advisory Committee Meeting was held in October 2019, which Mia is a member of. This meeting focused on project updates, outreach, volunteer recruitment and fundraising efforts.
- The foundation is in the process of recruiting two new full-time positions, a New Facility Manager & Education Program Manager. They are hopeful to announce them in Fall 2019 and they will start by early March 2020.
The foundation is busy staying on top of the recruitment and hiring of the new staff that will be coming on board in 2020 and working on the business plan.
